Almost half a million people tuned in to watch Patrick Kielty don his Stetson to host his second Late Late Show country music special.

RTE has revealed an average audience of 476,000 people tuned into Friday night’s annual show.

A spokesman for RTE said: “Friday night’s Late Late Show Country Special was enjoyed by an average audience of 476,000 on RTÉ One and RTÉ One+1. It was watched by 46% of the available audience on RTÉ One. Friday's show has generated over 58,000 streams on RTÉ Player over the weekend.

"This weekend across RTÉ social platforms, The Late Late Show has had over 14 million video views across all content and 880,000 engagements. Garron Noone and Daniel O’Donnell thrilled our audiences with their duet which garnered over three million views alone across Instagram, Tik Tok, X and Facebook," the spokesman added.

It comes after an average audience of 548,000 tuned into last year’s Country Music special. Last year’s show saw Declan Nerney inducted into the ICMA Hall of Fame.

On Friday night, TikTok influencer Garron Noone stood out from the line up. Best known as a comedian who often goes viral on social media for his hilarious videos, all of which he signs off by saying, "follow me, I'm delicious", it turns out, the Mayo man is quite a talented musician and singer and showed off his vocals while sat next to Margo O'Donnell and Mike Denver on Friday night.

Chatting with Patrick, Garron told of his delight to be making his Late Late Show debut, before treating the audience and viewers at home to a performance of When You Say Nothing At All.

Social media went mad for the TikTok star, praising not only his comedy skills but his singing voice too.

"Absolutely amazing singing Garron well done," one viewer wrote on Facebook.

"He is brilliant singer," gushed a second.

"What a voice.. he is fantastic," a third person wrote.

"Brilliant love following him he is a hoot," another said while a fifth referenced Garron's famous phrase: "He's delicious!"

"Love him, a serious talent both comedy and music," a sixth viewer remarked while another said: "A natural entertainer ..He'll be going places!"
