Irish shops that sold winning Lotto tickets named as two new millionaires come forward
Two Lotto players from Wexford and Dublin are celebrating after winning and splitting Saturday night’s €2 million jackpot. The lucky shops that sold the golden tickets have been named.
Two lucky Lotto players are celebrating an extraordinary windfall after they both won Saturday night's €2 million jackpot, transforming their lives overnight. Each winner will receive €1 million, as they share the jackpot prize equally.
The National Lottery has confirmed that both new millionaires have made contact, and arrangements are underway for them to collect their life-changing sums.
It was previously revealed that the winning ticket locations were Wexford and Dublin - however the exact shops that sold the tickets have now also been named.
The Wexford ticket was sold at Maxol on Newline Road, while the Dublin ticket was purchased at Spar, located in The Square Shopping Centre, Tallaght. These local businesses have since been buzzing with excitement over the news, with both owners expressing pride and joy at being part of such a life-changing moment for their customers.

Tony Butler, Owner of the Maxon shop said that this isn't the first time his store has received a call from the National Lottery. He said: "Would you believe it? This is our second big win in just under a year! Last October, we sold a Lotto Plus 1 winning ticket worth €1 million to one of our customers. People often say these things come in threes, so we're now waiting for the third! We're a really busy service station, so I'd be surprised if the winner isn't someone local. Whoever it is, we wish them the best of luck. It’s a great boost for Wexford Town."
Meanwhile, Farhan Vhatti, manager of the Spar shop, was thrilled to discover his store had sold its first major Lottery-winning ticket. He said: "I’ve been here for 10 years, and this is the first time we've sold a winning Lottery ticket! I’m absolutely delighted. €1 million is such a life-changing amount. I’m so happy for one of our loyal customers, and I hope they truly enjoy the win. Now that we’ve had this big win, I hope more people will come here for their Lottery tickets —our store is now officially a Lotto Jackpot winning location!"
The two fortunate winners from Dublin and Wexford join an exclusive club, becoming the 8th and 9th Lotto jackpot winners of 2024.
