Late Late Toy Show date confirmed as producers launch search for performers and toy testers
The highlight of the Irish television calendar will be taking place a little later than usual this year
RTÉ has confirmed the date for this year's Late Late Toy Show and producers are appealing for child stars to apply to appear on the annual fun-filled festive extravaganza.
RTE have announced that The Late Late Toy Show will air a little later than usual this year, with the eagerly anticipated Christmas special returning to screens across Ireland on Friday, December 6.
The Toy Show is the highlight of the Irish television calendar, with children from around the country showing off the latest toys and gadgets as well as their talents such as singing and dancing.

RTE are on the lookout for the next batch of Toy Show superstars as applications are now open for child performers and toy demonstrators from across the country.
Show bosses are looking to meet the best of Ireland's young singers, dancers, musicians, performers and toy connoisseurs and are calling on all children across the country with any interest in appearing on the show to get in touch.
"The countdown to the most wonderful night of the year has just begun. This year it will be on Friday December 6th so save the date!" an RTE spokesperson said in a statement.
"The Late Late Toy Show 2024 will be as magical as ever and we want you to be part of it. We're looking for kids from all corners of the island so let us know what's special about you."
So whether you want to demonstrate a toy or be part of a performance, all you have to do is complete the application form here and you could be selected to be a part of this year's Toy Show.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday, October 2.
Meanwhile The Late Late Show returns to our screens this evening for host Patrick Kielty's second year in the hot seat.
The Co Down comedian will be joined by a star-studded line-up on Friday night which includes four-time major winner Rory McIlroy, comedian John Bishop, young rappers Kabin Crew and Lisdoonvarna Crew, and some of Ireland's Olympic and Paralympic heroes.
