Liam Gallagher has been easily provoked into a feud with a successful young Irish band who are indifferent about Oasis's reunion.

The notoriously grumpy 51-year-old has reunited with his brother Noel, 57, to get their Britpop band back together for a 2025 tour - almost two decades after they spectacularly fell out. In the absence of Oasis over the past 15 years, other more relevant bands have risen to prominence including Dublin rock act Fontaines D.C. - whose latest album hit number 2 in the charts last month, and their previous record topped the charts.

Band members Carlos O’Connell and Conor Deegan III have expressed indifference over Oasis's hotly anticipated return - sparking fury from stroppy Liam. Asked what they thought of the Wonderwall singers getting back together by Studio Brussel, Carlos quipped: “I couldn’t really give a s**t, to be honest."

Conor added: “I’m not excited about it either, to be honest. I feel like we get caught in the last era – like the ’10s – and into such a nostalgic thing that we’re forgetting to make new things. I feel like what we were wanting to do with this record [‘Romance’] anyway was to look into the future and make new things… So for Oasis to reform at this moment for us is really annoying.”

The comments spectacularly wound up Liam who exploded online, lashing out at the act via X to write: "F**k them little sp**kbubbles I’ve seen better-dressed ROADIES.” Continuing to rage, he later posted: “They look like a s**t EMF." And later fumed: “State of em."

Perhaps in an attempt to appease sensitive Liam, Fontaines D.C. reacted to a post issued by NME over the furore to comment: “I love Oasis. This is not my opinion."

Oasis delighted fans last month when they announced they were back together and going on the road. But all their goodwill was destroyed just days later when tickets went on sale for astronomical prices - pricing out many of their fans - and system glitches and greedy tiered sales caused many fans to brand the tour a "rip off".
