Jalen Hurts, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, made a point of checking on injured Jordan Love after the Green Bay Packers suffered a 34-29 defeat in Brazil on Friday.

The night was one to forget for the Packers, who not only lost their season opener but also saw star player Love hobble off towards the end. In the dying moments, the Packers were hoping for a near-miracle to claw back into the game.

Disaster struck when Love got his legs entangled with a group of Eagles defenders before managing to toss the ball to running back Josh Jacobs. Despite completing the pass, the 25-year-old collapsed to the ground, visibly struggling with an injury. He was helped up but needed assistance from his teammates to leave the field and was later seen sitting on the sidelines.

After the game, it was celebration time for the Eagles, who kicked off their campaign perfectly in South America. However, Hurts displayed sportsmanship by going over to the injured Love for a handshake, reports the Mirror US.

This is far from the ideal start for the Packers, who now face the possibility of losing one of their key players in Love. When asked about the severity of the injury, Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur admitted he wasn't sure about the extent of the problem, but expressed concern.

"I don't know. We're waiting. Obviously very concerned about it. We'll wait to find out when we do more tests," LaFleur stated after the game. The Packers head coach was clearly dissatisfied with his team's performance on Friday, but refrained from blaming individual players, insisting that everyone had a part to play in the loss.

"I think it is a collective loss," he asserted. "All of us are responsible. Myself, it starts with me. It then goes down to our staff, and then it goes down to our players. I challenged everybody and we have to learn from this, because I think just watching the tape, and I am not trying to take anything away from Philly."

"They battled, and they played their game, but I think there were a lot of opportunities we did not capitalize on, and when you don't do that, you get beat."

With their sights set on redemption, the Packers are gearing up for their upcoming NFL clash with the Indianapolis Colts at Green Bay, scheduled for September 15.
