Liam Gallagher's old post has resurfaced as he is branded a 'hypocrite' following Oasis' ticket scandal.

The Britpop band have come under fire from fans and the music industry after tickets to their 2025 reunion went on sale. They are playing 17 dates across the UK and Ireland next summer, with tickets selling out on Saturday. However, fans using Ticketmaster to secure their spot where greeted with extortionate fees.

Before tickets went on sale, fans were told seated tickets would start from €86.50. After hours of queuing on the website, Ticketmaster ignited their dynamic pricing model. It saw prices hike to over €400 for one standing ticket.

In 2022 it was decided that when there is an increase of demand, a limited supply are allowed to go up in price. They say the point of the dynamic pricing system is to "give fans fair and safe access to the tickets, while enabling artists and other people involved in staging live events to price tickets closer to their true market value".

Oasis and Ticketmaster have been slammed for the move as fans either forked out way more than expected or had to give up on tickets. The band has remained silent on the criticism and now an awkward post from singer Liam has resurfaced. In a tweet on X from 2017, Liam wrote: "350 dollars to go and see rkid in USA what a c*** when will it all stop as you were LG x."

He was hitting out at his brother Noel for the prices on his American tour - which is now the same as the dynamic pricing tickets Oasis fans saw. In response to the resurfaced post, one person said: "Well this is evergreen." Another fumed: "£380 for a "reactively priced" GA when people had spent 3 hours queuing. What sort of c*** would do that? As you were. BA x."

UK government officials are poised to scrutinise "dynamic pricing", in the wake of widespread frustration about the "depressing" and sky-high prices for the Oasis tour. A previously announced UK government consultation on ticket resale websites is set to launch this autumn. Lucy Powell, the leader of the House of Commons, was among those stung by dynamic pricing over the weekend, ending up paying more than double the original quoted cost for an Oasis concert ticket.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, she admitted she wasn't a fan of surge pricing but conceded that "it is the market and how it operates". Fans have been making their feelings know online as one wrote: "I think dynamic pricing (aka ripping off fans) can only happen if a band agrees, if so, what Oasis have done to their fans is unforgivable. They became the touts."

Another put: "The silence from Ticketmaster & Oasis is deafening! Who set dynamic pricing and was dishonest about face value?" while a third person posted: "They should be ashamed, turning fan excitement into a money grab. This greed is ruining what should be a joyful experience. #Ticketmaster #Oasis #Oasis25."
