Pregnant Charlotte Dawson issues plea to fans after fiance's text scandal
Charlotte Dawson has shared a personal note to fans after a difficult first trimester and has hit out at those with negative messages
Charlotte Dawson has revealed that she has had a difficult first trimester as she expects her third child with former rugby league player Matthew Sarsfield.
The 31-year-old daughter of late comedian Les Dawson announced her pregnancy on Saturday, just weeks after she was “humiliated” by a sexting scandal when she discovered her fiancé had sent explicit texts to a rugby pal’s ex, leading to her kicking him out of their family home.
Charlotte has since decided to give him a second chance – after he apologised to a cardboard cutout of her late dad. “I made Matthew go and say sorry to the life-size cardboard cutout I keep of my dad,” she said. “And he has a lot of making up to do with my mum, too."

Now the former Ex on the Beach star has taken to her Instagram Story to share details of her pregnancy so far, and hit out at those who have sent negative messages about her expecting another child.
Writing on the social media site, Charlotte posted: "Thank you for all the comments and messages!! I'm overwhelmed and will try get back to everyone but just so you all know I love you all and very grateful for you all. For the negative ones, remember I've had to deal with all this whilst being in my first trimester which has been extremely tough, what's meant to be the most happiest time of your life has been the worst of my life."
Charlotte continued: "But every baby is a blessing & I'm so blessed right now. And I'm really trying to remain as calm as I can right now and look after this baby. Please be kind, if you have nothing nice to say please just don't say it. Also whatever I decide to do with anyone else, it's my life not yours. I appreciate all your advice and support but some people get far too involved & nasty. Just no need x"
Charlotte admits the pressure of having a family has affected her relationship with Matthew. “We’ve found it hard to find time together,” she said. “I still want to bloody rip his clothes off, even though I want to chop his d*** off, too. It would be amazing to have a little girl – for Matthew, too. I think being a girl dad will make him a better man, but we’ll see.”
Charlotte added: “It’s been a crazy time… horrible, having to deal with the heartache, the hurt, and being pregnant too.”
The stress had left Charlotte – who shares sons Noah, three, and one-year-old Jude with Matthew, 32 – fearing she would lose her baby. “Noah was asking where Daddy was and I don’t want a broken home. I want to do what’s best for my kids. Matthew says he’s going to give everything he’s got to make this work. But I’ve not made a decision on the future of our engagement yet. He needs to change.”
