Over half a million viewers tuned in to RTÉ One and RTÉ Player to watch the 2024 International Rose of Tralee selection, it has emerged.

New Zealand Rose Keeley O’Grady was announced as this year’s winner by presenters Kathryn Thomas and Dáithí Ó Sé and the crowning of the 2024 International Rose of Tralee drew a peak of 599,100 viewers on RTÉ One.

Last night, an average audience of 543,000 watched the Rose of Tralee International Festival 2024 after the Nine O'Clock News on RTÉ One.

Across the two days of the festival, an average audience of 412,900 tuned in on RTÉ One. The show also had a 1-minute reach of over 1.3 million across both nights.

RTE said The Rose of Tralee continues to draw younger audiences, with 60% of audiences aged 15 – 34 tuning in on Tuesday night.

RTÉ Player has 177,000 total streams to date, with viewers tuning in from Ireland and 81 countries around the world - across Europe, the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Iceland, Japan and more.

On social media, @rteone Rose of Tralee content has over 5.11 million views across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter, and over 504k engagements.

Group Head of Entertainment and Music for RTÉ, Alan Tyler, said: “It is terrific to see a traditional and much-loved cultural celebration connect so strongly with audiences across Ireland, the globe, and on all platforms. 65 years and counting!”
