It will take eagle-eyed vision and a high IQ to spot the robots in this puzzle inside the 12-second time limit.

Puzzle fanatics have been left stumped by this mind-boggling optical illusion in which viewers are asked to spot a robot couple among a scene of diners. The illusion is particulary tricky because the droids are wearing similarly coloured clothes to the human beings, making it difficult to pick out smaller details.

Have you found it yet? If not, here's a hint. Cast your eyes over the image and focus your attention at the centre of the screen. By studying the image inch by inch, you should be able to spot the answer.

Psychologists and Glasgow University recently found that engaging with optical illusions can improve your eye sight by allowing you to pick out smaller print. There is also growing evidence that puzzles and optical illusions like this one can "reduce the risk of dementia" by keeping your brain ticking with what is essentially a work out for your grey matter.

ZenBusiness claims: "These visual puzzles can give you a good mental workout that can, in turn, help you think more efficiently and solve problems more easily."

If you succeeded with this challenge, why not give some of our other brainteasers a go - to confirm just how clever you are.

With this brainteaser, hawk-eyed viewers are asked to study an image created by Hungarian cartoonist Gergely Dudas, also known as Dudolf on social media. He is well-known for creating puzzles and has built up a huge online following.

From an image of 25 butterflies, only 24 are matching pairs - and your job is to find the odd one out which doesn't have a match.

It might sound easy enough but it can get quite frustrating with all the images being black and white making it harder to identify the answer. If you're still hunting for the butterfly, be warned, there is a spoiler ahead. If you want to know where the butterfly with the unique pattern is, it's shown in the image below.
