Katie Price reportedly "blew £10,000 in a month" on takeaways and clothes after she was declared bankrupt for the first time almost five years ago.

The former glamour model, 46, is said to have spent about £7,000 during a single visit to department store Selfridges, it's been claimed, while it's also reported that approximately £500 was spent on takeaways, including Domino's pizzas, in the same month and an additional £2,500 on shoes.

A source has made the claims to the Sun, with the outlet reporting that Katie is said to have spent the money at the end of 2020. That was the year after she was declared bankrupt for the first time, when she owed creditors £3.2 million. The news comes after Katie was arrested earlier this week after returning to the UK from a trip to Turkey.

Just last week, it was reported that an arrest warrant had been issued by a judge after she failed to attend a hearing relating to her finances on July 30. Katie was first declared bankrupt in November 2019 and for a second time in March this year.

A source described Katie as a "spendaholic" to the Sun, saying: "It's incredibly worrying. She burns through obscene amounts in one go. She doesn't care about blowing cash when she should be paying her debts."

Katie was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Thursday and was later released on bail. On Friday, she appeared remotely at a hearing in a specialist bankruptcy court at the Rolls Building in London, hours after being detained. A judge warned her that it's a "serious matter" and gave her another court date for later this month. He said: "You have to attend that date, no ifs or buts, no going abroad, no holidays."

Following the court hearing, Katie took to Instagram to repost a supportive message from Jedward. It read: "Everyone please be kind to Katie Price. It's a delicate situation and she deserves support and love. Please be sensitive, she's a human and mum with a massive heart and deserves respect. Sending strength to her kids and family."

Katie also shared a second post from the X Factor stars, which read: "A true icon that has been through a lot we all need to lift her up in this fragile time! No one else could deal with the pressure and scrutiny! Let's all surround Katie with love." Katie was declared bankrupt for a second time in March because of an unpaid tax bill worth more than £750,000 owed to HM Revenue & Customs. After missing a hearing last week about her finances, Katie took to social media on Thursday, hours before her arrest, to tell fans that she was "aware" an arrest was incoming.

She wrote: "I would just like to thank everyone that has been showing support and compassion to my situation this week with my pending arrest. Despite what has been misreported I am now in route [sic] back from filming my documentary. I was never just abroad being ignorant to what's going on and I stand by the facts, which is that there has been miscommunications here between a number of people here to do with my bankruptcy.

"However now I am returning home from work, & I am aware that I am about to be detained at the airport which is obviously what the courts feel is necessary. I do hope of course for my son's sake who is with me that they will allow some dignity and protection for at least his sake as this will be extremely disturbing for him to see.

"Whilst I understand the importance and severity of the matter I do feel like I am being treated like a criminal. I would like to point out once again that this is to do with a very unfortunate financial circumstance which as hard as it has been does not make [me] a criminal or bad person. Millions of people suffer losses and go through bankruptcy's [sic], through many different reasons and mine was due to serious mental health issues and breakdowns from PTSD.

"Whilst [sic] it's been hard, I repeatedly will stand by the fact that I am not embarrassed or ashamed that this has happened to me. People loose [sic] their lives every day over the embarrassment and fear of these situations and the public bullying I've endured on this matter is simply not ok. I will continue to speak out on this and not be ashamed.

"I will address this with the police and courts when I land and I ask for my son Harvey's sake it's handled with care and compassion. I am after all only a human being. I appreciate all of you that continue to show me love it means a lot."
