Lee Carsley 6/4 favourite to be the next England manager
The former Republic of Ireland international is the bookies favourite to replace Gareth Southgate.
Lee Carsley is the new favourite to be the next England manager.
The U21 boss has received heavy support from punters in recent days and his odds on being the next England manager have been dashed to 6/4.
Former Republic of Ireland midfielder Carsley had been linked with the Ireland job during the FAI's hunt for a replacement for Stephen Kenny, but the 50-year-old opted to stay put as England's U21 manager.

He is expected to take charge of the senior side on an interim basis when they take on Ireland in the Nations League next month, and bookmakers William Hill reckon he is in prime position to follow in the footsteps of former boss Gareth Southgate by making the leap from U21 to the senior side.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “The FA have yet to officially announce a permanent replacement for Gareth Southgate but a potential hint could be set to drop in the coming days, as Lee Carsley is expected to take charge of the side on an interim basis for September’s Nations League games.
“We have subsequently seen him shorten into 6/4 favourite to take the permanent position, at the expense of Graham Potter, as the former Brighton manager has been nudged out of favouritism and is now 9/4.
“As the Premier League season draws nearer, Newcastle coach Eddie Howe’s chances of landing the role are drifting and he’s now a 9/2 chance, with a host of other big names 10/1 or bigger.”
