An urgent recall has been issued for multiple batches of burger buns amid fears of the presence of metal pieces.

On Tuesday, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued a recall for various Johnston Mooney & O'Brien burger bun products due to the possible presence of metal pieces.

Environmental Health Officers have requested that the implicated batches be recalled from sale, with the FSAI confirming recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale in stores. The buns were sold in Burger King, Supermac's, Lidl, Dunnes Stores, and by wholesalers Bundys and Brennans.

Caterers should not use the implicated batches and consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batches. The below batches have been recalled, showing the brand name, product description and best-before date(s), with pictures of the various products also.

Meanwhile, the FSAI has also issued recalls for multiple popular food products sold across various Irish supermarkets.

The food safety watchdog issued recalls for goat's cheese, different types of tahini sauce and two popular crisp brands, warning customers of health concerns with the products.
