The iconic Motorola Razr has got a fresh upgrade to go head-to-head with Samsung's new Galaxy Z Flip 6
The foldable phone revolution shows no signs of stopping with another bendable device set to arrive in stores.
Motorola first rebooted its iconic Razr phone back in 2020 and it has since had numerous upgrades including a totally fresh look last year. And as Samsung debuts its new Galaxy Z Flip 6 device, Motorola has come out fighting with two 2024 models called Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra.
The 6.9in smartphones flip shut and this means they are much smaller to slip into a pocket or bag than a regular slab style smartphone.

The stylish and colourful handsets are coated in either vegan leather or vegan suede on the rear, so they should feel luxurious while also being slightly more smash resistant.
Both new flip phones also sport external glass touchscreens you can use when they’re closed to take calls, reply to texts, change song, check the weather and loads more besides thanks to clever widget.
You can easily run entire apps on the screen too without having to deep dive into the phone’s settings, unlike on Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, for example.

Key Razr features
The most impressive device of the pair, Razr 50 Ultra, now gets a bigger 4in front cover display which is considerably larger than Galaxy Z Flip5's 3.4in ciover display.
On Motorola's front display, you can answer calls, play games, reply to messages and get your music playlists started. If you do feel the need for something more expansive you can open things up to reveal a giant 6.9in OLED display that is perfect for a night of gaming or a quick boxset binge.
The more impressive Ultra packs in the powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 mobile platform from Qualcomm under its shell while the less expensive Motorola Razr 50 comes with a smaller cover screen and gets a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chip.
Along with improved displays, Razr 50 Ultra also gets a better dual-lens camera that the firm said is the "best Razr camera technology yet."
Not only does it feature a 50MP main lens but also the option to shoot wide-angle and close-ups thanks to its 2X zoom. AI is included to instantly spruce up and edit your shots without you needing a degree in Photoshop.
The new camera offers improved image stabilisation, an Action Shot mode and Long Exposure for added special effects.
Thanks to Razr's clamshell design, the devices can stand on their own allowing you to shoot ultimate selfies without needing to hold the phone in their hands.
Despite being a foldable, the new Razr phones are fully waterproof and is covered in Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for added protection.

Motorola AI
Both models come with Google 's Gemini app for new AI features that link up with your Google services, as well as Moto's own Moto AI for things like creating unique wallpapers.
Other features
Motorola said the hinge on these flips is smaller, collects less dust than before and is more durable.
