Nurse admits life' flashed before me' when horse trampled car

A nurse has told of her miracle escape after she walked away unscathed from her mangled car which was trampled by a horse.
Martina Murray, below, said her life "flashed before me" when the animal jumped on her car and shattered the windscreen. Martina, from Letterkenny in Co Donegal, was on her way to work when "suddenly out of nowhere a black horse hit my car".
She described how its hooves "hit my side of the windscreen leaving it shattered on top of me. Then it retreated and hit all the left of my car."

Martina said she was grateful to the three people who were on the scene in the Carnowen area of Castlefin. She said on Facebook: "To say I was shocked was an understatement and as I write this now... I am very lucky and grateful to be alive.
"My greatest fear was that the horse was killed but thankfully it wasn’t.
"I am okay thank God apart from a few scratches and bruises and I’m very sore..."
