'Oh to be a rebel' - Cork fans

Cork fans can finally celebrate now after making their first All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final since 2021.

The rebels took the spoils in a close encounter with reigning champions Limerick, winning 1-28 to 0-29 and ending The Treaty's drive-for-five on Sunday in Croke Park. Both sets of fans had travelled in big numbers to the capital, making this the highest-ever attendance for a semi-final with a sold-out 82,300 in attendance on the day.

However, it wasn't just in Croker that Cork fans were celebrating securing their spot in the final. Rebel fans were also seen celebrating their famous victory in a bar in Majorca.

"Oh to be a rebel" was the chant of the day by the fans holidaying in the Santa Ponsa region of the island. Cork fans could celebrate into the night following this famous victory, which saw The Rebels get one back on The Treaty men after two successive championship defeats to Limerick in 2018 and 2021.

The tension during the match was intense but Cork held out to give Limerick their first knockout defeat in five years and book a rematch of the 2013 All-Ireland decider against Clare.

Cork manager Pat Ryan was interviewed after the match and told RTÉ: "'I thought they were going to come back and bate us, like they do everyone else!'

The Rebels have gotten over the Limerick hump and have shot out as close favourites for the final early on. Still, Clare can't be counted out after their victory over Kilkenny on Saturday, earning their first final appearance in 11 years.

The Cork fans in Santa Ponsa may have to rethink their holiday plans if they want to get back to see their team in person at Croke Park on July 21 against Clare for the All-Ireland SHC Final as they look to end their All-Ireland 19-year drought.
