Trooping the Colour on Saturday, also known as the King's Birthday Parade, seemed to be an unmitigated success, however, there were some notably missing faces - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

It was a landmark moment for the Royals, as it was the first time Kate, the Princess of Wales, had appeared in public since December of last year amid her cancer battle.

Undoubtedly if the Sussexes weren't estranged from the rest of the Royal Family, they would have most likely been in attendance at the event, instead, they are thought to have spent the weekend at their home in Montecito, California.

And royal commentator Richard Williams thinks that the Duke of Sussex will feel regret about not having attended the day's events, celebrating his father, King Charles III.

Sharing his thoughts with The Sun, Fitzwilliams said: "I think when it comes to military matters Harry has always taken an interest.

"I think that he does unquestionably view the way the break has occurred with the Royal Family. Which, as I say in my opinion, is the fault of the Sussexes." Harry and Meghan however would take a different viewpoint, as the Duke of Sussex detailed in Spare, which saw him detail how he felt he and his wife weren't supported.

Fitzwilliams continued: "We know they wanted an apology from the Royal Family for the way they were treated when they were senior working members of it. They certainly won’t get that. But I do think there will be a certain amount of regret."

The royal commentator also pointed out that "military has been a very important part" of Harry's life. He also remarked how he felt it would be "only natural" if Harry "had a feeling of some regret".

However, he thinks that Meghan meanwhile would feel "indifferent" to attending a ceremony like Trooping the Colour.

He also remarked how he has "no idea if [Meghan] would or wouldn't actually watch it" but he doesn't think "it would mean a great deal to her".

As well as royal fans being blown away by Kate's regal appearance at the event, her and Prince William's children George, 10, Charlotte, nine and Louis, six, also delighted the crowd.

Prince Louis, who has become known for his adorable, unfiltered facial expressions at royal events, didn't disappoint on Saturday, as he was seen yawning, pulling faces and cheerfully dancing.
