There were a couple of familiar faces on day three of the NFL draft with Love Island winner turned Olympian Greg O'Shea and Kerry GAA star Paudie Clifford announcing picks on Day Three.

The NFL is going increasingly worldwide and with their Global Markets Programme and have made a big push to increase supporter bases in Ireland.

The Pittsburg Steelers, New York Jets, and Jacksonville Jaguars have all made efforts over the last 12 months to grow their supporters and their biggest step to date came with all three franchises announcing draft picks from Irish soil.

First up was the Jacksonville Jaguars who announced the 114th pick of the draft with competition winner Stephen Howlin doing the honours from the Sports Ireland campus in Abbotstown.

But the picks from Ireland didn't stop there as Kerry GAA star Paudie Clifford announced the pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Clifford is an avid sports fan and has done some work for the franchise since they announced they would be growing their fan base in Ireland.

Love Island winner and Irish Olympian Greg O'Shea also announced a pick from the Gravity Bar in the Guinness Storehouse for the New York Jets as they selected running back Braelon Allen.

The NFL draft comes to a close later this evening after three days in Detroit with record crowds attending.

The Chicago Bears chose quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick but the draft will be remembered for its unprecedented run of quarterbacks with six chosen in the first 12 picks.

Currently, there are no plans for an NFL game to be played in Ireland but Commissioner Roger Goodell said it is likely the number of international games are set to increase year-on-year while Steelers ownership has spoken of their desire to host a game in Croke Park.
