Burgas, Bulgaria
Two flights will be available again from 2025 onwards in Wizz Air’s Debrecen offer, Debrecen International Airport announced in a recent Facebook post.
As they write, flights will be available to Larnaca in Cyprus from April 1 and to Burgas in Bulgaria from June 17.
Haon.hu recalls that
the low-cost airline Wizz Air has been operating flights from Debrecen only to London since November 2024, and last autumn the company decided to drastically reduce the number of flights and relocate its base aircraft in Debrecen to Budapest.
Previously, 19 flights were operated from Debrecen on 7 routes. Flights to Rome, Eindhoven and Istanbul were also discontinued.
The airport’s management hinted in October last year that the Cyprus and Bulgaria flights would return in the summer of 2025, but the exact date was not known.
The popular Debrecen – London-Luton service will continue to operate continuously between the two cities.
Earlier, as reported by Hungary Today, Tamás Király, Managing Director of Debrecen Airport, said that over EUR 10 billion of capital will be coming to Debrecen in the near future, and that the airport will be developed in parallel with the increase in purchasing power. In addition, an incentive program has been developed to attract new airlines.
