Crazed Frenchman purposefully runs down unknown woman in Crete
Crazed Frenchman purposefully

The local community of Heraklion is ιν shock aftera 33-year-old Frenchman purposefully ran over and killed 36-year-old Rania, someone totally unknown to him.

The perpetrator and the victim did not know each other, the authorities assure, with the 33-year-old making bizarre claims when asked why he targeted the unfortunate Rania, such as that it was his father and that he was stalking him, indicative of his psychiatric condition.

In the meantime, the fact that six days earlier, a prosecutor's order had been issued at the request of the 33-year-old's partner, and the Frenchman was transferred from the Rethymno Police Station to the hospital for a psychiatric examination, is causing a sensation. However, the doctors there decided that he did not need hospitalization. And six days later, this unthinkable murder is connected to a woman who happened to be in front of him on the road meeting a horrible death.

The 33-year-old Frenchman's attack on Rania
Meanwhile, the video recording the murder is causing shock and immense sadness over the loss of 36-year-old Rania. Rania's car is in front, while the 33-year-old Frenchman follows close behind.

Rania stops to park and then the 33-year-old waits, stopped, at a distance of 10 meters.

As soon as the 36-year-old gets out, the perpetrator accelerates and falls on her.

Then the Frenchman gets out of the car and, according to information, once again confirming his situation, climbs on his own vehicle that has overturned and curses the unfortunate Rania vulgarly before attempting to escape.

Psychiatrist: "He did not seem dangerous, that is why he was not hospitalized"

Speaking to neakriti.gr, the psychiatrist of the Rethymno hospital, Antonis Christonakis, who had examined the perpetrator, spoke about his condition.

As he said, the 33-year-old Frenchman visited the police alone, saying that he was looking for his father, whom he believes to be a politician. Mr. Christonakis said that the perpetrator, despite his mental state, had not displayed violent behavior but neither did he have any indications that he needed immediate hospitalization.

“He did not seem dangerous, that is why he was not hospitalized,” he said.

“He was completely calm. His apparent delirium concerned no one other than himself and his "make believe" father, whom he was looking for. He was not even suicidal. The testimonies that the police have are not shared with us, we are searching in "murky waters". He was not a danger to himself or others, there was no sign of such a thing anywhere. He was offered treatment, medication, and he did not accept it", he added.

Asked whether there were any "indications" in the 33-year-old's behavior that would have foreshadowed his act, Mr. Christonakis replied: "There was no indication of what happened today, otherwise we would have kept him in the hospital for treatment. I examined him six days ago, I cannot know what happened during that time that led him there. Things are not as they say on television."

At the same time, fellow villagers of 36-year-old Rania cannot believe her apallingloss. The Cultural Association of Anopolis Pediados bid farewell to her with a post on Facebook.

“In memory of our beloved villager, Rania Bourneli

With unspeakable sadness and deep sorrow, our village bids farewell to our Rania, one of our own children who left us so unjustly. Her life was cut short violently and unjustly, leaving behind a huge void in our hearts.

Rania was a person full of kindness, love and smiles. She was a girl who grew up among us, we shared moments with her, and we all remember her for her brightness and pure soul. Our village mourns not only the loss of one of our own, but also the injustice that took her from us.

Our beloved Rania, have a safe journey. Your village will never forget you,” the Cultural Association wrote.
