Seventy-four people arrested by police for the violent incidents and the shots fire outside the Panathinaikos Stadium in Ambelokipi have been charged with five criminal offences and a string of misdemeanours, after appearing before a public prosecutor on Sunday.

Only 72 of those arrested on Saturday appeared before the prosecutor, as the other two are being treated in hospital as detainees.
The charges against them will include that of forming a criminal organisation, attempted homicide, construction of explosive mechanisms, instigating the construction of explosive mechanisms and possession of explosives.

The Hellenic Police on Sunday announced that 74 people were arrested over the savage fight that broke out on Saturday among football fans outside the Panathinaikos Stadium on Tsocha Street in Ambelokipi, during which shots were fired.
Four of those placed under arrest were injured during the incident, the announcement said, of which two were taken and admitted to a hospital in Athens.

"An incident of fan violence was solved by the Sub-Directorate for Violence in Sports Venues. A total of 74 people were arrested in connection with the case, with charges drawn up against them variously for forming a criminal organisation, disturbing domestic peace, attempted homicide, dangerous bodily harm, destruction of foreign property, weapons, fireworks and drugs violations and breaking the law on sports," the police announcement said.

It said that all individual at the scene were taken into custody through the collaboration of various departments in the police force and found to all be supporters of the same team.

In a search of the area, police found and confiscated 18 motorcycles, helmets, clubs, knives, a bullet, gloves, neck guards and mobile phones.
