The brakes of a Mirage 2000-5 failed on landing, with the pilot fortunately reacting quickly and making use of the ejection seat.

 The young pilot, when she realized the problem, activated the ejection seat, which operated normally, following protocol.

The fighter aircraft was returning with the trainee pilot to Tanagra after an exercise with other aircraft in the Aegean.

 While the aircraft had landed and was taxiing on the runway, the pilot realized there was a problem, recording an uneven braking incident, as one of the two brakes was apparently not working as intended.

The pilot, reacting calmly, proceeded with the prescribed actions, making use of the ejection seat, and exited the Mirage in time.

"On Monday, July 1, 2024, at approximately 1:46 p.m., during taxiing, after landing from a training flight, the pilot successfully ejected from the M2000-5 aircraft at the 114th Fighter Wing, Tanagra Air Force Base. The special defense analyst, General Konstantinos Iatridis, told Mega that the problem probably arose from a breakdown in the brake system.

He noted that the pilot worked very well based on the response protocol in such cases.

 As he said, this is a particularly capable member of the Hellenic Air Force, which in fact, in a recent international exercise in the United Arab Emirates, gathered highly laudatory comments for its presence.

He added that the 30-year-old fighter pilot is the one the Turks are "trembling".

"My love for airplanes was created from my childhood, when I used to watch the fighters fly over my village. Growing up I admired the profession a lot, and when I learned about the Icaron School, I decided I wanted to be a flier.
