The company initiated the negotiations as part of a plan to revamp its organisational structure and rationalise its cost structure.
“Changes of this magnitude are very difficult for all parties especially when the changes affect the responsibilities of so many colleagues. The reforms are nevertheless necessary for us to create a faster, simpler and more effective Telia,” Heli Partanen, the CEO of Telia Finland, commented in a press release on Tuesday.
The reforms, she added, are an attempt to improve customer satisfaction, guarantee profitable growth and safeguard the ability to make investments in Finland. The changes are to be implemented starting in early December.
