A 49-year-old man was arrested in connection with two burglaries in Larnaca, the police announced on Saturday.
The man was arrested on Friday in connection with a burglary which had been committed on December 9, while investigations into that burglary also linked him to a separate burglary which had taken place on Monday.
In the second burglary, various valuable items, including jewellery, watches, and gold coins were stolen from a residential property.
When the man was arrested, a bicycle, three watches, and a number of sim cards were found in his possession, while a search of his residence turned up other watches, multiple pairs of sunglasses, handbags, and a full cartridge of a firearm.
The police said the man “could not provide a satisfactory explanation” for the items which were found on his person or at his residence, and as such he was arrested.
