Paphos police arrested a 37-year-old woman on Thursday for a case of assault against a police officer, resisting lawful arrest and impersonation.

According police, the woman of African descent was arrested shortly after 6pm when she presented herself at Paphos airport departures lounge with a French ID, the photo on which depicted someone else.

During her interrogation, the suspect pushed a police officer and she was subsequently arrested on the spot for assault, whereupon she resisted arrest.

Identified as an asylum seeker, she was also arrested for impersonation.
