A 24-year-old man was robbed on Monday night in Limassol, with the perpetrators stealing his motorcycle.
According to a complaint filed by the victim, an Indian student residing in Cyprus, the incident occurred around 7pm in the Kapsalos area. The student reported that two individuals on a black motorcycle blocked his path.
The attackers, who were both dressed in black clothing and wore black helmets, allegedly assaulted him before taking his motorcycle, valued at €1,500.
Following the report, members of the Limassol CID and the emergency response unit arrived at the scene to conduct investigations.
According to reports, the man is not a food delivery driver.
Earlier this week, Justice Minister Marios Hartsiotis, speaking after a meeting with the labour minister and the police chief, said that there have been 18 reports of attacks against delivery drivers this year – the vast majority in Limassol.
There have been several arrests of mostly young men for these attacks but, as yet, no sentencing.
