A 58-year-old woman was arrested early on Friday at Larnaca airport after more than two kilograms of cocaine were found in her luggage.
According to a police statement, members of the drug squad Ykan, in collaboration with customs officers, stopped the woman for a routine check upon her arrival from abroad.
During the search, a nylon package wrapped in black tape was discovered in her shoulder bag, containing white powder later identified as 2.116kg of cocaine.
The woman was arrested on the spot and remains in custody. The case is being investigated by the Larnaca Ykan branch.
