Authorities in Greece will deploy more police officers at the Promakhon checkpoint on the border with Bulgaria to speed up the processing of documents for people and vehicles crossing the border, reports BNR's correspondent in Greece, Katya Peeva.
More than 2 million tourists pass through the busy border crossing every year, so the increase in the number of police officers is necessary. The border staff will be increased by 18 police officers, which is expected to minimise the time needed to check documents.
The number of patrol vehicles will also be increased.
