Katie Taylor next fight update as Eddie Hearn hints at Croke Park trilogy showdown

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has once again floated the possibility of Katie Taylor fighting at Croke Park.

Taylor has long been eyeing up a big fight-night at GAA HQ, and while Hearn has expressed interest in hosting an event at Croke Park in the past, the Matchroom boss has been unable to come to terms on a deal with GAA officials.

Having beaten Amanda Serrano for the second time in November, all eyes are on Katie to see what she does next. A trilogy fight with Serrano is a possibility, as is a contest with Chantelle Cameron who Taylor twice fought at the 3Arena in 2023.

On who Taylor might fight next, Hearn told Betfred: “Katie’s just always up for the biggest challenge. Whether that’s Amanda Serrano three or Chantelle Cameron three, they’re two big fights out there for her.

"Given the audience off the back of the Netflix show with Katie and Serrano, I think it’s likely we could see a third. I think we’d be up for that and these fights have given us two fight of the year contenders.

"They could fight ten times and we’d have ten fight of the year contenders. We’ll have to see what’s next and we’ll pick up those conversations in the next couple of weeks.”

While there are two potential opponents for Taylor's next scrap, there are also a couple of venues on the Bray Bombers bucket list that she wants to scratch off before riding off into the sunset.

One is obviously Croke Park, with Taylor frequently mentioning in public that she is desperate to fight in the 82,300 seater stadium. Another possibility for the 2012 Olympic Champion however is a trip to Sin City.

"There’s a couple of things she hasn’t done. One is Croke Park and the other is Las Vegas. They’re two things that are on the bucket list for her and with Serrano three, I think we’d have the opportunity to do it at Croke Park. Whether we can make it happen is easier said than done, but we’ll certainly open those talks and see if it’s a possibility.”

A third fight with Serrano seems the most likely course of action following their classic rematch on the undercard of Mike Tyson v Jake Paul in November. Should that fight not come to pass, a trilogy bout with Chantelle Cameron could be in the offing, with the series currently tied at 1-1.
