Steven Gerrard's daughter expecting first child with son of Kinahan mobster Liam Byrne

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard said he can’t wait to be a father as his daughter Lilly-Ella is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Lee, who is the son of Kinahan cartel mobster Liam Byrne.

Lee, who has no involvement in crime, has been in a relationship with Lilly-Ella since October 2022. She was 18 years old at the time and he was 23.

The couple are now expecting their first child together. Posting a photo of a pregnancy test and sonogram scans to Instagram, the soon-to-be mother wrote: “Our little secret the best news, mini us is on the way”.

Her father Steven Gerrard commented on the post: “We can't wait, great news and congratulations we love you”. Social media star Chloe Sims wrote: “Yes yes yes so excited for you babe xxx”.

Lee seemed to be utterly smitten with Lilly-Ella, having previously referred to her as "the best person he's ever met". The soon-to-be dad is not involved in any criminal activities, but his notorious father cannot say the same.

His dad, Dubliner Liam Byrne, 43, has been identified in court as the head of the 'Byrne Organised Crime Group'. In February 2016, his brother, David Byrne, was gunned down in one of the most infamous gangland killings in Irish history.

The murder took place inside the Regency Hotel and marked a pivotal moment in the brutal Hutch-Kinahan mob feud, which led to 18 deaths.

Last month, at the Old Bailey in London, he pleaded guilty alongside Thomas ‘Bomber’ Kavanagh to conspiracy to import firearms which were ultimately found buried in a field in Newry, Co Down in May 2021.

They were deliberately left there in a bizarre plot to be found by investigators - following a tip-off from Kavanagh, 57, who was trying to secure himself a lesser prison sentence.

Liam Byrne was sentenced to five years in prison. In mitigation, his defence barrister told the court that his client “never wants to find himself in this position again,” and “wants to find himself living a good and honest life” when he is released.
