Olympic boxing hero Kellie Harrington reveals her dream of playing with U2

Kellie Harrington has revealed she has found what she is looking for - and it's a Desire to play drums with U2.

The double Olympic gold medallist, who has already had a viral internet-breaker with the ballad Grace, wants to rattle and hum it out playing bass, snare and hi-hat behind Bono and the boys.

"My wife Mandy got me a surprise for Christmas, she said 'open the door', I opened the door and there was an electric drum set," Harrington told Dublin's northside Festival na mBan yesterday.

"If I don't get to play a tune now with U2 or someone like that now...but I am taking it up and we'll see."

Why not? Harrington has an eye for a tune albeit either Bono is going to have to learn Grace or the boxer the beats for U2's version of Amazing Grace.Harrington's famous version of Grace following her Olympic gold victory at Roland Garros in Paris resulted from going on a walkabout before her final. "I was the last fight of that day, it was the only final, all of the rest of them were semi-finals."So I knew I had time and I was walking around while I was waiting and saying to everyone thanks for coming to watch.

"Someone in the crowd shouted 'sing Grace' and you know me, you don't have to ask me twice normally, and then I was thinking maybe..."The boxer had no idea at the time the song would have such an impact"It was gas. Afterwards people in the Olympic Village were coming up to me and saying 'You were great singing Grace last night'..."Even people from other countries were coming up to me 'You were singing last night? Well done!' and I'm thinking, ah here, thanks very much but I also won an Olympic gold medal like."Meanwhile Harrington. 35, is adamant she won't be turning professional and won't be at the next Olympics."Everyone says 'what's next?' For the time being I just want to spend some time, to enjoy finding out who I am.
