Sky Sports forced to apologise after Michael Van Gerwen's sweary outburst following World Championship final

Sky Sports presenter Abigail Davies was forced to apologise after Michael Van Gerwen's sweary outburst following his loss to Luke Littler in the World Darts Championship final.

Van Gerwen was outplayed throughout the match, with teenager Littler breezing past the legendary Dutchman on his way to winning 7-3.

Speaking after the final on stage with Sky Sports, MVG heaped praise on Littler before proclaiming that he was 'an old bastard' compared to the Nuke.

For finishing runner-up behind Littler, Van Gerwen will take home a cheque for £200,000, while the Nuke is about to become £500,000 richer for his win.
