Man grievously injured after losing control of vehicle and crashing into barrier

A traffic accident on Thursday left a 36-year-old man grievously injured.

The accident occured in Marsa. At around 7.45am on Thursday morning, the police were informed about a traffic accident on Triq Diċembru Tlettax in Marsa.

Police officers went on site, and preliminary investigations found that a 36-year-old man from Turkey, who resides in Żabbar, lost control of a Toyota Vitz he was driving, and crashed into barricades and a light post.

The victim was given first aid by a medical team and taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He was certified as having suffered grievous injuries.

Members of the Civil Protection Department had also gone on site to assist.

The police are investigating the case.
