Tyson Fury's wife Paris opens up on 'very difficult' few weeks as she details vow made ahead of Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Paris Fury says it has been "very difficult" not speaking to her husband Tyson ahead of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. The English heavyweight revealed earlier this week that he has not spoken to his wife in three months during his preparations for the Saudi Arabia bout.

“I've not spoken to Paris for three months,” Fury told TNT Sports. “Not a word, not spoke to anyone, not been on my phone, I've been away from it all. I just wanted to give myself the best opportunity I can.

“I don't want to keep dividing modes from beast mode, to Dad mode, wife mode, I've not spoken to anybody on the phone, that's it. I've just been in the camp the whole time.

“It's difficult to keep switching. I've not spoken to anybody on the phone. Anybody who has called me has not been successful in getting hold of me in the last couple of months."

Paris says she has not seen her husband behave like this in a number of years. "I don't think he's spoke to a lot of people this time round," she told iFL TV. "I haven't seen him like this since the Deontay Wilder rematch, this was the last time I seen Tyson in this mood so I can't give you much inside scoop because we haven't spoke for weeks and weeks and weeks."

She continued: "I think after the last fight everything that went on previously personally in our lives and then Tyson obviously had the outcome last time I just think he decided this on his own and I had to support him in it.

"He didn't want to be involved in family life so he's cut himself off from us for the last few months and he has put himself in a serious, serious condition and he looks very, very determined so if it's what needed to be then God willing it will all come out and it will all be good."

However, Paris admits it has been difficult not speaking to the 36-year-old while she raised the couple's seven children over the past few months.

"It's been very difficult," she explained. "I can't lie. I mean I supported him in the decision but it wasn't the greatest thing to sit and not speak to your husband for a long time, but I'm looking at him and I can see... I saw him yesterday, it was the first time I saw him, we still haven't spoke, I literally was across from him ten foot and we just barely made eye contact but I can see I think in my heart it's paid off, the dedication that he's got there and concentration. I can see it in his eyes that nothing else matters other than this fight."

Paris missed the first fight between her husband and Usyk after suffering a miscarriage when six months pregnant the day before the bout and says she has vowed to never miss another of his contests again as long as it's not outside of her control.

"No because for the first time in many years that I have ever missed a fight was last time and the outcome was not good so I vowed that night I'll never miss another one as long as it's not out of my hands which last time it was so this time I'm here supporting," she replied when asked if she had considered not attending the bout. "I love him dearly and I hope everything goes perfectly how he wants it to go."
