Irish primary school student goes viral for incredible performance of O Holy Night at Christmas concert
An Irish primary school student, who has just turned 12 years old, has gone viral worldwide for a truly incredible performance of the beloved Christmas carol, O Holy Night, at her school Christmas concert.
Katelyn Harrington was asked to perform the song to close out the concert at St Joseph’s School in Kilcock, Co Kildare earlier this week and has since gone viral after footage of the performance spread wildly across social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
Posting the video, Katelyn’s proud mother Catherine wrote: “What an Honour to watch our beautiful daughter Katelyn perform this stunning Christmas song, O Holy Night.

“Katelyn was asked by her school to close out this year’s concert. She played the part of Mary and we are so, so proud. A standing ovation tonight and a lot of tears from her Nana. Huge Thank you to her teacher that accompanied Katelyn on the piano.”
As well as receiving a standing ovation at the concert itself, Katelyn’s performance has spread like wildfire on social media, picking up over 1.1 million views on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook to date.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror about the performance, Katelyn’s mother Catherine said: “On behalf of myself and my husband Richard, we are unbelievably proud and blessed by the incredible support that Katelyn is receiving from around the world.
“Katelyn is such a beautiful little girl with the most beautiful stunning smile.”
Katelyn is no stranger to performing on stage or, indeed, receiving huge acclaim for her incredible voice. She appeared in this year’s Junior Eurovision semi-finals on TG4 and also won an international song contest in Spain, which was rewarded with a six-night stay in Barcelona.
Katelyn also regularly posts videos of songs on TikTok with her her sister Kerry-Ann, who are known as The KK Sisters and have racked up 740,000 followers. You can also find the KK Sisters on Facebook and Instagram.
