Eminem's daughter Hailie Jade reveals how she kept her pregnancy a secret from the rapper

Rapper Eminem, famous for his hit The Real Slim Shady, has recently found out that he's set to embrace grandfatherhood.

At 51, Eminem was in the dark about his 28 year old daughter Hailie Jade's pregnancy until he announced he would become a grandad in a heartfelt music video for his new song 'Temporary', unveiled on Thursday.

The poignant video includes a timeline of father and daughter moments, capped off by a touching scene where she gifts him a blue jumper emblazoned with 'Grandpa 1' and shows him her sonogram a snapshot she later shared with her followers on Instagram, alongside her husband Evan McClintock.

In a candid moment on the 'Just a Little Shady' podcast, Hailie Jade divulged the secret tactics employed to keep her condition under wraps. With her best mate Brittany Ednie's strategic assistance, they craftily avoided sparking any pregnancy rumours at a recent wedding they both attended.

On the podcast, Brittany spoke openly: "I need to also defend myself now that this is public knowledge that you are pregnant because at said wedding, people did not know that she was pregnant." Brittany confessed to covertly consuming all of Hailie's drinks during the event to keep their circle of friends from guessing the truth.

She explained her side: "So she was, you know, grabbing a drink, not consuming the drink as a responsible parent does." Brittany detailed their discreet tactic: "Whenever people were turned around, she would hand me her drink, and I would chug so it looked as if she was continuously drinking throughout that night." Hailie revealed that her friend had been heroically "taking one for the team" by doubling up on drinks, even though she never explicitly asked explaining: "I'll defend myself, though, because I never really asked you to do it. It was like an unspoken thing with our eyes."

Hailie and her beau Evan first crossed paths in 2016, and after seven years together, he proposed. The lovebirds tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in May. Eminem welcomed Hailie into the world back in December 1995 with then-wife Kim Scott. The couple, who married twice, eventually called it quits for good in 2006. The rap icon also extended his family by adopting Alaina, the daughter of Kim's twin sister Dawn, and Stevie Mathers, who is Kim's child from another relationship, during their younger years.
