Cristiano Ronaldo slams team-mates and refuses to collect medal over Al-Nassr collapse

Cristiano Ronaldo furiously stormed off down the tunnel without collecting his runners-up medal after Al-Nassr collapsed and lost 4-1 in the Saudi Super Cup final.

Ronaldo, 39, put Al-Nassr 1-0 up against rivals Al-Hilal in Saturday's final before they conceded FOUR goals in 17 second-half minutes. Two of them were scored by ex- Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, with Al-Hilal having beaten Al-Nassr to the Saudi Pro League title last season.

After the third goal went on, Ronaldo cut a frustrated figure and began making gestures with his arms. When former Barcelona winger Malcolm buried the fourth, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner became even more infuriated.

Ronaldo began shouting at his team-mates and stood in the centre circle appearing to insinuate that they'd 's***' themselves in a lewd gesture. The Portuguese megastar also put two hands together next to his ear, signalling that they'd been sleeping.

Al-Nassr never woke up, though, and lost their first chance of silverware this season. When it came time to award Ronaldo and his team-mates with their silver medals, the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend was nowhere to be seen.

Footage showed Ronaldo storming back towards the dressing room, choosing to leave the stadium empty-handed after the four-team tournament came to a conclusion. The 39-year-old is about to embark on his second full season with Al-Nassr and his time in Saudi Arabia has been a mixed bag so far.

Boasting 66 goals in 72 games, Ronaldo hasn't lost his eye for goal and helped his side win the Arab Club Champions Cup at the beginning of last term. But by finishing a whopping 14 points behind Al-Hilal in last season's title race, Al-Nassr, who are managed by Portuguese coach Luis Castro, evidently have plenty of work to do.

Ronaldo also endured a painful Euro 2024 campaign with Portugal, failing to score in five games as they went out in the quarter-final stage to France. Despite his 40th birthday coming up in February, former United team-mate Rio Ferdinand recently claimed that Ronaldo isn't going anywhere.

"I can't give too much away but I've been doing a few bits with Cristiano behind the scenes and he's playing as long as he wants," Ferdinand revealed on Rio Reacts. "He ain't going nowhere. And I was gobsmacked. And listen, you’ll see it in time, but minimum three years I think he plays for again."
