Urgent recall issued for burger buns due to possible presence of metal pieces


An urgent recall has been issued for multiple batches of burger buns amid fears of the presence of metal pieces.



On Tuesday, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued a recall for various Johnston Mooney & O'Brien burger bun products due to the possible presence of metal pieces.



Environmental Health Officers have requested that the implicated batches be recalled from sale, with the FSAI confirming recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale in stores. The buns were sold in Burger King, Supermac's, Lidl, Dunnes Stores, and by wholesalers Bundys and Brennans.

Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale while wholesalers/distributors are requested to contact their affected customers and recall the implicated batches and provide a point-of-sale recall notice to their retail customers.



Caterers should not use the implicated batches and consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batches. The below batches have been recalled, showing the brand name, product description and best-before date(s), with pictures of the various products also.

Meanwhile, the FSAI has also issued recalls for multiple popular food products sold across various Irish supermarkets.



The food safety watchdog issued recalls for goat's cheese, different types of tahini sauce and two popular crisp brands, warning customers of health concerns with the products.



Consumers are being advised not to eat the implicated batches, with recall notices to be displayed at the point-of-sale in supermarkets around the country.
