Racing fans stunned how Paul Townend-ridden horse gets over fence after early jump

Racing fans could not believe how Brandy Love made it to the other side of a fence after taking off for it way to early at Wexford.

The incident happened as the Paul-Townend ridden 1/3 favourite jumped a fence in front of the stands during the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beginners Chase on Thursday.

Brandy Love came into the race having not got her head in front since winning the Grade 1 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final at Fairyhouse two years ago and was sent off the long odds-on favourite.

However, the eight-year-old made a number of mistakes throughout the 2m3½f contest before falling at what was the last fence (usually the second last).

One of those came when she took off early for a fence, spent plenty of time in the air, dragged her back two legs through the fence and somehow managed to stay up.

A number of people took to social media to express their shock with how she managed to do so, with one person writing: "Brandy Love giving her jockey, I’m sure, a bit of a surprise taking off way too soon over that fence & a few others by the report of the race… amazing to see just how far she extends.. cracking video!!"

Another commented: "This video from Brandy Love over at Wexford is really incredible!! I must have rewatched it 10x and still have no idea how she adapted her back legs in time but watch the adjustment."

Someone else said: "How did Brandy Love make that jump at Wexford yesterday."
