After American footballer Isaiah Simmons posted a video in late June of his white-wrapped Cybertruck, Tesla’s expensive electric pickup truck with an unconventional design, Tesla CEO Elon Musk decided to share his thoughts.

“Nice,” he wrote on his social media platform X.

People in Slovakia might wonder how he would respond to a video that captures this “apocalypse-proof” American vehicle stuck in a Slovak lake.

On June 30, the owner of the Cybertruck, who drove his car to Slovakia from the Czech Republic, decided to test the three-tonne vehicle in Malé Košariská lake near the town of Dunajská Lužná, a stone’s throw from Bratislava. The test failed since the allegedly indestructible car got stuck in the gravel bed and sank.

“Several people had to help out the car, digging out gravel, placing wooden planks under the wheels, and pushing the vehicle from behind,” writes the huntinspeed.sk website.

People swimming in the lake or passing by the lake managed to free the vehicle in the end.

“Elon, try to conquer Mars instead of Slovakia,” a Facebook user wrote.

According to the website, the owner wanted to test the Cybertruck’s so-called wade mode, which makes it possible for the car to drive through water. The mode is intended for water up to 81 centimetres. Drivers are recommended to check the water’s bottom conditions and depth beforehand.

Due to its sharp edges, the truck cannot be sold in Europe, the website also notes, but anyone can individually import it. The car, which costs at least $80,000, is popular among American celebrities such as Jay-Z, Serena Williams, and Justin Bieber.

Tesla started producing the truck last year, and plans to ramp up its production. Since its launch, a number of cases of the vehicle struggling, in sand for example, have appeared in the media.
