Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech on Saturday paid tribute to Karin Grech, who was killed by a letter-bomb addressed to her father. Grech is also a cousin to Karin Grech.

On the 28th of December 1977, the 15-year-old girl was killed by a letter bomb in a case that remains unsolved to this day.

Today, 47 years later, the murder of Karin Grech remains a stain on our country's recent political history, and her killers have still not been brought to justice, the Nationalist Party said in a statement.

Earlier this afternoon, the Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista Bernard Grech, together with Mrs AnneMarie Grech, visited the Addolorata Cemetery and laid a wreath of flowers on her grave in remembrance of his cousin.

On this day, the Partit Nazzjonalista emphasises the need for the Maltese people to know the truth and for justice to be served for this innocent girl and her family, even in the case of such a barbaric killing.

This dark chapter in Malta's history can only be closed when this murder - like every other political killing our country has witnessed - is finally and permanently solved.

While honouring the memory of Karin Grech, the Partit Nazzjonalista reiterated its commitment to ensuring that this girl - an innocent victim of the climate of hatred and intolerance that prevailed in the country during those dark times - is never forgotten.
