A number of passengers escaped from an airplane which made an emergency landing at Luqa.

Police and Armed Forces of Malta personnel are involved in the manhunt at the airport and in the surrounding areas.

The Turkish Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Malta after a Moroccan passenger requested medical treatment.

As the aircraft stood on the runway, a number of passengers escaped.

One of them has been arrested while a search continues for the others.
