A police sergeant will be arraigned on Saturday on charges related to exposing information on third parties.
In a statement, the police said that the arraignment is the result of an investigation.
The sergeant’s identity was not disclosed, and no further has so far been provided.
Sources who spoke to MaltaToday said that the sergeant was stationed within the drugs squad. They told this newspaper that some compromising information that was leaked concerned drug raids, including prospective searches conducted on containers within the Freeport.
“The Police Force does not tolerate any abuse,” the police said.
She is expected to be arraigned in front of Magistrate Victor Axiak at around 1:00pm.
