A week has passed since the Industrial Tribunal's harsh condemnation regarding the unacceptable behaviour of Joseph Cuschieri towards a worker who was simply doing his job, yet the Government remains motionless, and no action has been taken against him, the Nationalist Party said Friday.
Prime Minister Robert Abela and Minister Miriam Dalli are once again siding with their inner circle over the genuine worker. So much so that the former MFSA CEO, Joseph Cuschieri, continues to enjoy an €86,000 salary per year, now leading Project Green, and the €413,688 fine imposed on the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) due to his actions will ultimately be paid by the public.
Meanwhile, Cuschieri has not had the decency to resign from his position after what he has been found guilty of doing, the PN said.
Cuschieri is one of many pawns Robert Abela is using to play musical chairs, as a few months ago, he was moved from CEO of the MFSA to CEO of Project Green.
After Joseph Cuschieri destroyed the career of a worker and caused the MFSA to receive a hefty fine, instead of standing by the public and the worker, Robert Abela and Miriam Dalli continue to defend those who are in the wrong, the PN said.
Minister of Finance Clyde Caruana has also remained silent.
Their inaction and deafening silence is a shame to every Maltese and Gozitan citizen who does not want the culture of impunity to grow in our country.
Every day that Robert Abela allows Cuschieri to remain in place, he continues to foster a culture of impunity and reward those who break the law and crush the worker. The public deserves much better, the PN said.
