Parliamentary Secretary for Public Cleanliness Glenn Bedingfield said Tuesday that cleansing and maintenance workers are collecting 45 tons of illegal waste every day.
Addressing Parliament during the adjournment, Bedingfield said he had to speak about something which bothered him, which is the fact that 45 tons of illegal waste is being collected daily, on days where such waste is not meant to be collected.
Bedingfield said that 45 tons of illegal waste makes up two large double-decker buses. He said that there are many people in the country who are very irresponsible with disposing of waste.
He said that the people need to take responsibility on themselves, and make others who live in the country responsible in order to take care of cleanliness in a collective effort, while thanking workers of the cleansing and maintenance division.
