BBC Concert Orchestra to retur

The BBC Concert Orchestra will be returning to the Floriana Granaries for the fifth time.

The Ministry for Tourism said that as part of the event, 70 musicians and 6 singers will be performing on 5 July.

This year’s edition of the event will revolve around the theme of “The Iconic Queens of Soul”, featuring records by iconic singers such as Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and Tina Turner. The Ministry said that in addition to the thousands of attendees who will be at the event in person, the event will also be aired on BBC Radio 2, one of the United Kingdom’s most followed radio stations.

Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo said that this concert has entered well into Malta’s cultural calendar of events that take place during the summer. He continued that aside from the quality of talent that the event brings, which is a “wonderful experience for those who attend it”, the event also is “above all, another opportunity through which we continue to increase the visibility of the Maltese Islands in the British market”.

Bartolo concluded by saying that the government is committed to continue working so that Malta continues to experience quality tourism throughout the year.
