A man and a woman were injured on Sunday afternoon when a car crashed into a pole in Luqa, the police said.

The accident happened in Triq San Tumas at 4.30pm.

A 65-year-old man of Zabbar lost control of the Kia Picanto he was driving and this crashed into the pole. A 61-year-old woman was in the car with him.

The two were taken to hospital, where the man was found to have suffered slight injuries while the woman was grievously hurt.
