On Sunday morning, the Armed Forces of Malta received a 112 call, as 2 persons found themselves in difficulty at sea at Wied iż-Żurrieq and needed assistance.

The Malta Rescue Coordination Centre immediately dispatched an Armed Forces of Malta helicopter and successfully rescued the persons, the AFM said. "They were safely handed over to medical staff for further attention."
