It is expected to snow and rain in Latvia at the end of the week. Coastal regions will experience strong wind in the meanwhile. Active precipitation will remain next week, as well. Air temperature will stay at around 0° C… +5° C in the first half of the week and will drop again in the second half of the week, as reported by State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
The end of this week will pass with precipitation-rich weather in Latvia. On Friday, 7 December, an atmospheric front will pass through Latvia, bringing snow with it. The layer of snow will reach 2-5 cm. Once warmer air temperature enters the country, snow will become wet snow and rain, causing roads to become slippery.
On Saturday, another precipitation zone will pass through Latvia, bringing rain to most of the country. Air temperature will be mostly above 0° C, reaching +5° C… +7° C in western parts of Latvia. Cold snap will remain at night in the country’s eastern parts. Wind speed will be 15-16 m/sec on Saturday and Sunday.
Next week’s air temperature will be dictated by a cyclone with its centre above the Baltic Sea region. Weather will be cloudy and rich with precipitation in the form of rain in western region and wet snow in eastern and central regions. Air temperature at night and day will be similar – around 0° C… +5° C during the day and 0° C… -2° C at night.
Cyclone activity will reduce in the middle and second half of the week. Colder masses of air will flow to Latvia, causing air temperature to drop a couple of degrees.
