Priest and thermal cradle technician probed for infant death
Pair may face manslaughter charges
An Italian parish priest and a
technician responsible for a thermal cradle where abandoned
babies are left have been placed under investigation in relation
to the January 2 death of an infant found in the cradle after
the cleric's alarm supposed to alert him to a new arrival failed
to go off, legal sources said Tuesday.
Don Antonio Ruccia and the unnamed technician face possible
manslaughter charges, the sources said.
The episode happened at Bari's San Giovanni Battista church.
