Mattarella to be in Auschwitz on January 27
Traditional ceremony at Quirinale Palace moved to Jan. 28
Italian President Sergio Mattarella
will be in Poland for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of
the Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz on January 27.
The announcement, first reported by daily newspaper Corriere
della Sera, has been confirmed by the president's office.
January 27 is Holocaust Remembrance Day and Mattarella will
attend the ceremony with other heads of State and government
from Europe and beyond.
The traditional ceremony to mark the day scheduled at the
Quirinale palace in Rome has thus been moved to January 28.
